Desktop Apps

The apps use a secure, Rust-based tunnel (built on the Iroh protocol) connected to an Application Load Balancer on Datum’s edge cloud.

After creating a Tunnel via the desktop app, you’ll get a simple HTTPS hostname that you can share with anyone. You can also protect it with a simple username and password combo.
You can create Tunnels in any project, including ones that you share with colleagues (which helps them find your publicly shareable hostnames).

Installation

The desktop apps are available for macOS, Windows, and Linux. Choose your platform below.

Install with Homebrew:

brew install --cask datum-cloud/tap/desktop

Download the latest Linux AppImage, then make it executable and launch it:

chmod +x Datum.AppImage
./Datum.AppImage

After installing, open the app and sign in. Create a Tunnel in any project to expose a local environment with a secure public HTTPS hostname.
