> If you can only fetch URLs: read https://www.datum.net/docs/llms.txt in full and open the most specific page for the task. Commands, limits, and field paths are on task, operations, and limits pages, not on section overviews. Pages described as "Documentation is coming soon" are placeholders.
> If you have a shell or can save files: download https://www.datum.net/docs/llms-full.txt (every page, about 740 KB) once and search it with grep, instead of fetching pages one at a time.
> datumctl describes itself: `datumctl api-resources` lists resource types and `datumctl explain <resource>` shows a schema. To act on live resources, use Datum MCP or datumctl. To search the docs, use the Docs MCP server at https://www.datum.net/docs/mcp.

# gVPC limits and quotas

> The fixed limits for gVPC networks: address space, networks per workload, network interfaces per Instance, MTU, and the locations that carry Compute traffic.

This page lists the fixed limits for [gVPC](https://www.datum.net/docs/galactic-vpc/overview.md) networks. gVPC is still being built, and network quotas are not documented yet.

> [!NOTE]
>
> gVPC is in preview, and the `networking.datumapis.com/v1alpha` API can change.

## Limits

| Item | Limit |
| - | - |
| Address space for each network | A `/48` IPv6 prefix that Datum assigns |
| Address space for each location on a network | A `/64` from the network's prefix |
| Address block for each Instance | A `/96` from the location's `/64` |
| Networks for each workload | 1 |
| Network interfaces for each Instance | Exactly 1 |
| Default MTU | `1440` |
| Locations that carry Compute traffic | `us-central-1`, `us-east-1`, and `us-west-1` |

For limits that apply to the workloads on a network, see [Compute limits and quotas](https://www.datum.net/docs/compute/limits-and-quotas.md). For features that networks don't support yet, see [Limitations and roadmap](https://www.datum.net/docs/galactic-vpc/limitations-and-roadmap.md).
